Spring fling ... Prose poem ...

Smells of early spring,
Hit me like the smell of a man wearing too much musk cologne,
My vision blurred,
From my eyes tearing,
My mouth was openly inhaling,
Because my nose refused to breath,
While a headache throbbed deep inside my head

A glass of water,
A red sinus pill,
Twenty minutes later,
I took a deep breath of spring,
And welcomed the allergies it was about to bring,
Because I didn't care,
As long as there was no visible air coming from my mouth,
as I exhale my breath,
Nor sidewalks blanketed with heavy wet white snow,
For my shovel and aching back to throw

  1. I can soooo relate to the allergy issue. As for welcoming the gardening pains over shoveling snow, I am with ya!!!

    Happy Spring :)

  2. I can't figure out why people complain about heat, after enduring months of cold and snow...

  3. One thing about seasons it makes us appreciate the next one. One must know low to appreciate high or cold to appreciate heat.
