This thought was triggered by reading iamagirl blog....
Normally a song poem is written with just a line or word from the song. But I decided to write with all the lyrics and add my own words to it because unfortunate for me, the words hit home, and this was really one of my I hate love songs... I tried to follow the rhythm of the song as close as I could...
(My words are in Bright Green)
There was a time, after she had done me wrong,
I would listen over and over to this song,
Contemplating in the shadows all alone,
While sitting and listening closely to this song words
Because I was a fool for falling for someone I had a lot of doubts about,
But being lonely, you lower your guard and let people in your comfort zone,
I let myself have feelings for someone who didn't have my interest at best,
Even thou I knew she didn't really past the trust worthy test,
But you think if you have know this person most of your life, then taking a chance should be a save bet,
Never thinking you would find out that this song was written by someone, who knew her better then me, when he sings...
"Sometimes a girl,
Will come and go,
You reach for love,
But life wont let you know,
That in the end,
You'll still be lovin her,
But then she's gone,
You're all alone,
I never learn, to give myself,
I have been a fool,
And right now I "need someone else",
Just like boy blue, I blow my horn, only for you,
Just lead me home,
I should of known
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love nobody",
"iI takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love no one"
Sometimes you have to suffer,
Make your bed that you slept in
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love nobody",
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love no one"
Sign of pain,
Is on my face: well,
My hearbeat stops,
But I wont take the blame, (no no)
I gave her all, the love I had within,
My love was strong,
Something went wrong,
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love nobody",
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love no one"
Stop and think about it,
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love nobody",
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love no one"
Stop, and shout about it
"it takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love nobody",
"it takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love no one"
I have to be more careful about myself,
It took a long time for me to learn,
I was a fool, you were a fool
Now we got lovin', we got huggin'
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love nobody",
"It takes a fool, to learn, that love don't love no one"
You look up and your all alone,
You were a fool,
And now you need someone else,
To heal your pain,
I should of known better,
But my heart was lonely
But then came you,
Learning me what love was about,
What sharing love was,
Learning me that love comes from within,
You taught me that love doesn't love anybody,
Unless somebody love you back
"It took a fool to learn, that love don't love nobody,
It took a real fool to learn, that love don't love no one"....

ReplyDelete"Learning me..."
"You taught me that love doesn't love anybody, Unless somebody love you back."
i love these lines...creatively true.
you know what i love about your writing? that you express love in such a way...well, quite frankly, i didn't think men were capable of feeling. such a deep understanding.
great posting!
Hmm, all men are pigs... haha.. Actually, if any of my friends would read any of my poetry, they would say who is that impostor. Most of us men, have been taught to be strong and not show our feelings, that was being a man. I use my poetry to let the monster out. Even my spouse has come to understand me better since I started writing, because I always held everything inside me. Now I speak more. Still not like my poetry, but a lot more hen I use too. Habits are hard to break... Thank you for reading a part of me.. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you achieved what you wanted. Excellent job!
