R.I.P ... My little sister ... Collaboration musing ...

My dearest sister

I don't have the right words,
To let you know,
Just how much I loved you,
So I will speak from within my heart

Every beat of my heart reminds me of you,
Your caring ways,
The softness of your soul,
The laughing spirit inside your gentleness

My heart ache in sadness,
While my mind has to accept the madness,
Of losing someone as kind and wonderful as you

The lost of you in my life is something no one will every know,
Just how deep it hurt me,
Because it can only be felt inside my heart,
Seen in the silent of my tears,
Heard in the peace of my prayers

There's a rainbow of emotions, rampaging through my heart because of the:

Could of,
Would of,
Should of

That will forever be in the back of my mind,
Because of the talk we should of had, that never got said,
But I know in your heart, you knew I loved you as much as any sister could

When I first heard you were gone, my first thought was I didn't get to say goodbye to you,
But now I realize there are no goodbyes,
Because you live in my heart, my mind, and the spirit of my soul

In the sadness of every death, there is also rejoice,
No more pain,
No more suffering,
No more dark days,
It's also the day you are chosen to stand face to face in the meeting with God

So I ask:

God grant me the serenity to accept things I can not change,
Courage to change the things I can,
The wisdom to know the difference

As of now, my tears rain silently and sometimes out-loud,
While my heart beats heavy in grief from the lost of you,
But tomorrow I will smile, when my memory thinks of thee,
Sharon, my little sister...

Always forever, your loving sister....

  1. I am so sorry for your loss. That is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen written about loss. You capture the pain and sorrow so eloquently.

    Just beautiful...

  2. Thank you Betsy, it was my spouse who lost her sister. I helped her to put this together. She had the words, but couldn't gather them, so I put them in a poem form for her. I posted it so she would have a memory to come back too... I appreciated your warmth...

    peace and love
